Orientation
What makes Quiet Touch Massage different from other at-home providers?
QTM is built around rest, preparation, and clarity. A few things that make a real difference in practice:
• One masseur. Every appointment is me — Isabelle. No rotation, no unfamiliar face at the door, no explaining your preferences over and over.
• A short paper intake. On a body diagram you mark where you feel tension or sensitivity. That way I know in advance what you need without us having to talk about it during the massage.
• Each session is attuned to you — what you do or don't want that day, places you'd rather not have touched, what pressure suits, what you need.
• Silence is an equal option. No social pressure to make conversation.
• The same calm atmosphere every session. Soft music, prepared materials, clean hands, an arranged table.
• An aftercare card afterward with practical guidance.
• Women-only and at home. No waiting room, no shared space, no busyness between sessions.
What is the minimum age?
Quiet Touch Massage works exclusively with women aged 18 and over. I currently do not offer treatments for younger girls.
Do you work with English speakers and expats?
Yes — fully. Sessions can be entirely in English or in Dutch, whichever feels right. The whole website is available in both languages (see the toggle at the top), and I'm happy to handle all WhatsApp communication in English.
How far in advance should I book?
Standard: at least 24 hours in advance. That gives me time to plan my day calmly and prepare with care.
Same-day requests are sometimes possible in consultation, provided I receive a message before 12:00 noon for a session from 17:00 onward. For same-day bookings a 50% deposit is always required in advance — also for returning clients.
Not sure if a same-day booking is still possible? Send a message.
How long is a session and which duration fits me?
You choose 60, 90, or 120 minutes. Plan a little more time than the massage itself — for arrival, a short intake, and a calm close.
60 minutes works for a focused session. 90 minutes gives the body more space to land — often more comfortable when tension has been there longer, or for a first appointment. 120 minutes is for when you really want to take the time.
What do I need to prepare?
A warm, quiet room and enough space for the massage table is enough. Your home does not need to be perfect. I bring everything — the table, sheets, oil, clean hands.
What's nice (but optional): a glass of water for after, and your phone on silent. The rest I take care of.
Session & technique
How personal is a session?
Fully. Before your first appointment I ask you to fill out a short medical questionnaire, so I know if there are any specifics (allergies, medication, sensitive areas, recent surgeries or wounds, etc.). At the appointment we briefly check in on what you need that day — some days it's different from last time.
On the body diagram you indicate what you do and don't want touched. Some women don't want attention on their legs or face; others want extra work on neck and shoulders. Both work, both are welcome.
What massage technique do you use?
The basis of my work is Swedish massage — a calm, classical technique with effleurage, kneading, and circular movements. Suitable for general relaxation and focused tension relief.
No deep trigger-point work, no sports massage. Want to know more about the approach before booking? Send a message.
More pressure = better result, right?
Not necessarily. Attentive, even-paced pressure often does more than firm deep pressure. At QTM I work with pressure that suits what your body allows in the moment — not "no pain no gain" logic.
During the massage you can always ask for softer or firmer. It's not a test you have to pass to get a result.
Can I talk during the massage, or can it be silent?
Both are welcome. Some women like to talk, others prefer silence. Your preference may change during the session — there is no social pressure to make conversation.
Personal comfort
What oil do you use? I have sensitive skin.
Hypoallergenic massage oil without fragrance. Suitable for most sensitive skin types. If you have a specific allergy or preference, you can note it in the intake form — I'll attune to it.
Do I have to take off my bra during the massage?
Whatever feels right. For most massages a towel-coverage works well and no bra is needed. If you'd rather keep your bra on, that's fine — let me know in advance or on arrival, and I'll work around it.
What if I have my period? Can the massage still go ahead?
Yes, go ahead. Menstruation is not a reason to cancel. Some women find massage especially welcome during these days — the rest can help with headaches, cramps, or fatigue.
Prefer no tampon or cup? No problem. I work with clean sheets and if anything happens, I simply wash everything. It’s part of the body, and I’m used to working with that — nothing to feel awkward about.
If you’d rather reschedule, also fine — let me know and we’ll find a new moment.
Does QTM work with men or couples?
No. Quiet Touch Massage works exclusively with women, in a calm individual session. A partner or housemate may be home, but stays in a separate room during the massage.
May I bring a friend or sister for a calmer feeling?
Yes, you can. A friend, sister, or family member may be home — for instance if you’d like someone familiar nearby for a first appointment. During the massage itself she stays in a separate room (same rule as for partners or housemates).
Sometimes the calmest idea is to have someone home who can sit with you afterward. Very understandable, and welcome.
What if I want to stop during the massage, or it doesn’t feel right?
You can let me know at any moment that something needs to change — more or less pressure, a different area, a pause. You don’t have to explain, and it doesn’t affect the rest of the appointment.
If you really want to end early, that’s fine. I do charge for the time I was there — but after that, you decide in your own time whether to come back or not. No sales talk, no pressure.
What if something emotional surfaces during the massage?
That happens sometimes. The body lets things go — that can show up as tears, memories, or simply a deep sigh. It doesn’t need explaining, doesn’t need analysing, and certainly doesn’t need to be hidden.
I keep working calmly, or rest my hands quietly. No questions, no interpretation. Space to be what is present in that moment. "Let it be there. Take your time."
QTM is a relaxation practice, not therapy. But what surfaces while the body lands is welcome.
Can I do a patch test with the oil if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. For peace of mind I can apply a small amount of oil to an inconspicuous spot on arrival (e.g. the inside of your wrist) so you can check whether your skin responds well before the massage starts. Mention it in your message or on arrival, and we do it calmly.
Practical
How do I pay?
For your first appointment I ask a 50% deposit via payment request after the appointment is confirmed. The remainder you pay right after the session via payment request, bank transfer, or cash.
For follow-up appointments I do not ask a deposit — you pay the full amount immediately after the session.
Can I extend the massage if I want more time?
Yes, if the schedule allows. During a 60- or 90-minute session you can ask for a 30-minute extension — €50 extra. I assess on the spot whether it fits that day's planning. Not guaranteed, but possible.
For 120-minute sessions, extension isn't available — those are already at maximum length.
What if I'm unwell? Fever, cold, flu?
For fever, flu, or an acute infection: cancel the appointment. Massage isn't suitable then — for your recovery, my health, and that of other clients. The deposit moves to a new date.
For a cold: please also reschedule. Even though massage can feel relieving with mild symptoms, I work in an enclosed space for 60–120 minutes. It's fairer to me and to the client after you to postpone.
In doubt? Send a message — we'll find a new moment together.
What if I need to cancel?
Up to 24 hours before the appointment you can cancel or reschedule free of charge — any deposit is refunded.
Within 24 hours the deposit is non-refundable. For no-shows the full amount is due. The principle: calm and fair on both sides. If you're unwell (fever, flu, cold), I reschedule — no need to worry.
For repeated rescheduling without a clear reason, I may ask for a deposit on follow-up appointments — to protect my planning.
Privacy & legal
How do you handle privacy and my data?
Everything you share — medical information, preferences, personal context — stays strictly confidential. I use your data only to prepare your session well, never for marketing or sharing with third parties.
Intake and health data are stored encrypted in a secured folder for a maximum of five years after your last treatment, then deleted. You have the right to view, correct, or delete — a message is enough.
Full details are in my privacy statement.
Is this covered by health insurance?
No. Quiet Touch Massage offers relaxation and wellness massage. This is not a medical treatment and is therefore not covered by health insurance. In doubt, please check with your insurer.
Gift & together
Can I book for myself and my mother or daughter together?
Yes — gladly. A back-to-back appointment for two women from one household is possible. Send me a message with your preferences (which massages, which duration), and I’ll schedule the two sessions consecutively.
A lovely way to share a moment of rest, without having to travel together for it.
Can I gift a massage to someone?
Yes. Send me a message with the recipient’s name, her city, and which specific massage you’d like to gift (no free amount — a fixed service, e.g. a Full-body relaxation 90 min). I’ll prepare a personalised gift card (PDF) with a unique code; you pay via payment request or bank transfer, and I send the card to you or directly to the recipient.
The recipient must live in Leiden and surroundings — any travel costs outside Leiden are added on top. Gift cards are valid for one year and non-refundable.
